Dance Cabaret!

Did YOU see the Dance Cabaret? Well, I did, and let me tell you- I
thoroughly enjoyed watching our sophs put their groove on. It was great
to see a large crowd of sophs coming to cheer on their friends- I must
say we were extremely loud and our dancers received 100% support from
the stands.

Congrats to our girls on the Dance team- Madeleine, Thuy-Vy, Morgan,
Mikaela, Auti, Katie, and Juliann! You were absolutely amazing, and I really
wish we all had your dancing skills.
3rd and 4th period also graced us with their moves- we had a large
amount of sophs out there including Monique, Laura, Claudia, and Maria.
Great job guys!

Another shout out for our comedian Emily Griffith who had us chuckling
with Ms. Raposa imitations between songs. Great job!

Thanks for coming out to watch, and stop by some of the basketball and
soccer games coming up to see our talented athletic ones!

Mission Domination: Half Way Complete

Wow. Sophs, you pulled through big time and we are SO proud of you.
Alone, we raised a huge amount of goods for Sacred Heart. You have
changed the lives of hundreds by providing them with food, clothes, and
toys to play with. Thanks for contributing, and
congrats on winning!

Lets keep up our momentum throughout the year. We are such a gifted
class, and we can make a difference!

Remember that
all sophs get free dress on Wednesday- wear yellow!

Great job guys.

Congrats Girls!

Congrats Sophs! You pulled through once more by winning food drive. Thanks for all of the hard work and contributions to help our community- we are extremely proud to represent our school by giving back.

The seniors are ahead of us by two points overall in spirit points. Lets try to put our effort into penny drive! Although revenge on other classes is sweet, our number one tactic is to get as many pennies as possible. Silver coins, dollar bills, and checks can be put in an envelope and labeled sophomore positive pennies. By simply donating $20, you are giving us two thousand pennies!

Keep it up sophs, and don't give up!

Tailgate Triumph

Congrats to the sophomores for the successful tailgate! We had a pretty good turn out and earned a large amount of spirit points. Thanks to all the girls who came out! The JV volleyball team gave it their all as they battled it out with Mitty. The score jumped back and forth, and our incredible sophomores Maddie Cooper, Kathleen Bozzo, Julia Schon, Cristen Hordes, Lindsay Castagnola, Amanda Plant, and Angie Nguyen made awesome plays. They unfortunately lost by only a couple of points, but I'm sure they enjoyed the spirited yells by their classmates.

Make sure to buy your tickets for the sophomore "Crazy for You" night on November 13th. We will get spirit points, extra credit, and free hot cocoa. Be there!

Food Drive Prep

We need girls to distribute bags to neighborhood houses. Dates: Nov. 4 at 3pm, Nov 10th at 3pm, Nov 13th at 12:45, Nov. 20th at 3pm. Meet in the foyer.

We need a large number of girls as well to pick up full food bags in the neighborhoods. Dates: Nov. 7th at 12:45, Nov. 14th at 3, Nov. 17th at 12:45, and Nov. 24th at 3. Meet in the foyer.

These are really fun! You can coordinate days to go out with your friends. You can blare music and run around in the neighborhood, and maybe if your driver is really nice, you could stop to get some starbucks! Think of all the less fortunate individuals who need our help and how simply by going on a canvassing day can feed one more hungry child. We all need to contribute and take advantage of the wonderful gifts we have been given. Lets go make a difference, Sophs. Sign up for the days in homeroom.

Updates!

Sophomores: Congratulations on the secret food drive success! We brought in more than 9 boxes of pasta materials. This is a great start to food drive. Keep bringing in paper bags to your homeroom- ask relatives, neighbors, and the grocery store! Also, make sure to bring in two cans to receive a ticket for the volleyball tailgate- it will definitely be super fun!

A-Day Smackdown This Friday

Teachers falling flat on their faces and being pelted by whizzing dodge balls? Yessss.

When I attended A-Day smackdown last Friday, I was pleased to see that 3/4 of the sign up sheet was all sophs! This is one of the easiest ways to receive spirit points! No, you don't have to be athletic or super skilled in sports. All you have to do is relocate your friend group into the gym and eat lunch there instead! You can snack, talk, and enjoy immense entertainment or get up there and play too! Lets round up the spirit points girls! We are barely hanging on!

Make sure to sign in and come to A-Day smackdown this Friday!

Sophomore "Crazy for You" Night!

Hey girls! If any of you haven't noticed, we have an incredibly talented sophomore class. Our gifted actresses, including Grace Farley, Emily Griffith, Demi Pace, Amanda Camillo, and Morgan Locke light up the stage with beautiful vocals and individual style. We are planning to have a "sophomore night at the theater," when we all try to attend one show together.

Buy tickets today for the November 13th showing of "Crazy for You!" This way, we can have a student audience and cheer on our girls loud and proud!
At intermission, you will receive free hot cocoa outside. Did I mention you get English extra credit AND spirit points? Sounds like fun!

Be there.

Sophomore Tailgate.

To earn more spirit points and to support fellow sophs on JV volleyball, the student council has decided to have a tailgate on October 20th starting at 4:30. If you would like to come, all you have to do is bring two cans to homeroom. When you bring in your cans, the sophicer or homeroom-rep will give you a ticket for nachos! YUM! :) Hope you all can come! It's going to be a blast:)
B-Ricks.

Sophomore Secret Food Drive.

Hey Guys! As you know we have a food drive going on in homeroom. In honor of Christopher Columbus and Italian Heritage Month, bring to homeroom: spaghetti, tomato sauce, and parmesan cheese.
At Safeway:
Pasta is on sale! Buy two jars of Classico Pasta Sauce (for $4) and get two boxes of pasta free!
Even though the drive ends on the 9th, continue to bring things in! ESPECIALLY BROWN BAGS!
Thanks!

Bell Mixer Coming Up!

Frosh/Soph Mixer @ Bell
Saturday October 17th
7:00-10:00

Hey ladies! There is a frosh/soph mixer at Bell coming up on Saturday, Ocober 17th. We are upperclassmen at these dances now, so it is time to party! (In a moderate, controlled, and purely academic manner.) Just remember to keep the gospel values in mind while you dance the night away. No, you don't have to whip out some mary janes, a turtle neck, and a rosary, but lets just set a good example for the frosh. So go enjoy yourselves, have fun, and meet some boys!

Welcome to the Blog!

Hey Ladies! The Student Council thought that it would be a great idea to start a blog that we, as the class of 2012, can use all four years at Pres. This website will include: polls, announcements on upcoming events, student council meeting minutes, and other fun tidbits. One idea that we have is to include a "Sophomore of the Week." We are so unique and special in our own ways, like come on, we're the only class who has a blog. Woot Woot! We want you to know that we love you and we're excited to hear your opinions. Stay tuned!
